My mother, born in 1916, died last year, and the great treasure I will have share on a rotating basis with my two sisters is a set of binders of poems she has collected since she was a little girl. I have good memories of sitting beside her as she read poems to us. No surprise, I started my own collection when I was in high school.quixote34https://www.blogger.com/profile/06706855580965414775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933982574370506108.post-24530678114151418772011-10-28T16:48:44.300-05:002011-10-28T16:48:44.300-05:00Ah, I should have read more deeply perhaps. We cannot limit 'innovation' to the usual suspects of the enshrined avant-garde, or what Bob Perelman called "the church of the innovative." As Steve Yao said, we must "decouple innovation from form." Beth Frost reminded us of "innovation's" corporate contexts.

What would happen if someone started a journal of "Guest Studies"?Marshahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11748965712210933536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933982574370506108.post-25247951348626580902011-10-25T00:12:09.477-05:002011-10-25T00:12:09.477-05:00You bet there were people who hadn't heard of ...You bet there were people who hadn't heard of Guest! Maybe for next years MSA, we should find 30,000 modernist scholars to write about each of the 30,000 poems he wrote. Do you think that's a procedural project that some poetics scholars could get on board with? :)Mike Chasarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00272500491569722314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933982574370506108.post-64578831366521180472011-10-24T23:44:11.833-05:002011-10-24T23:44:11.833-05:00There were people there who hadn't heard of Ed...There were people there who hadn't heard of Edgar Guest?
