It's funny how poetry gets slipped in sometimes to make something cool, hip or outsider though.

Also, Richard Grieco did so a poetry thing. I vaguely remember that episode and the teacher episode too.Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03873601294718355853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933982574370506108.post-14010113951076452142009-08-13T07:30:13.714-05:002009-08-13T07:30:13.714-05:00Two of my all time faves, Dorothy Parker and Johnn...Two of my all time faves, Dorothy Parker and Johnny Depp! This is far more interesting and unexpected than the connection I've always enjoyed between Gilmore Girls and Dorothy Parker. This one treats Dottie's verse as street cred--how fabulous! She does have a hard-boiled aesthetic, which I think sometime gets underplayed because of people's preoccupation with her gender. (She did love crime fiction by Dashiell Hammett and described a powerful prose style as stripping the flesh to the fresh young bones.)Cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02826838358315364238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933982574370506108.post-72949764328261418482009-08-12T17:49:53.840-05:002009-08-12T17:49:53.840-05:00Thanks for the preview. I still remember one of the lines:

"And break like a racehorse from the gate."

It was awesome, or at least seemed that way at the time.Michael Northrophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11790376775353765817noreply@blogger.com
