Here is w...I've been looking for that as well. Here is what I remember, but I can't find it online:

Tigers, Tigers burning bright
In the ballparks of the night
You're pitching's fair, your fieldings adroit
So why no pennants for Detroit?

You play around the big league parks
with bats that barely give off sparks
And then, while on high and sitting pretty
You blow four games at Kansas City

That's all I remember. The last verse begins as the first one did. I thought it was hilarious at the time. Maybe that is why I remember it.Bill C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16344861547181285169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933982574370506108.post-40655467314918402192011-06-22T19:24:53.451-05:002011-06-22T19:24:53.451-05:00I was the audience.
I'd forgotten Bullwinkl...I was the audience.

I'd forgotten Bullwinkle's Corner. I actually went to the library and read some "Longfeller" as a result of watching that show.
You are probably 20 years too young to remember MAD magazine. They too had great fun with some of our venerated poets, probably gone forever now.

All that comes to mind, 50+ years later now is:

"Tigers, tigers burning bright
in the ball parks of the night
your pitching's fair and fielding
adroit.
So why no pennants for Detroit?"

You ought to get and intern busy on that, Mike.tjpfauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02220632387630869223noreply@blogger.com
